Ric Lewis visited Eastside on Saturday – EYLA Trustee, Founder of the Black Heart Foundation, CEO of Tristan Capital Partners - he inspired, motivated and enthused the young leaders with his story, melded with golden nuggets of advice and tips for a successful life. Marcus Kerr, alumnus, introduced Ric to the young leaders mentioning that he was recently awarded Number One on the Power List, an annual compilation of the 100 most influential black people in Britain.
The 2019 list is filled with big names in politics and public life, sport, and music, with high profile figures including Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, rapper Stormzy and boxer Anthony Joshua. Yet, for those of us who have the privilege of knowing Ric and witnessing him at work, seeing him top this list comes as no surprise. Jasmin Raveendran (Year 11) gave a vote of thanks at the end of Ric’s talk picking out some of those nuggets that she will take away.
Ric’s parting advice was a list of 10 things that anyone can do to be successful – none of them require intellect, experience or skill so no excuses – we can all be successful!
