V
In partnership with V, the Jack Petchey Foundation and Sovereign Capital, EYLA are launching an exciting new project that matches volunteers aged 16-25 with younger people.
Mentoring is a great way of people gaining new skills whilst sharing what they have learned from life with someone who needs guidance and direction. We have all experienced some form of mentoring at some time in our lives, usually from an older person who acts as a role model, challenger or guide.
If you are aged 16-25 and would like to enhance your CV, give something to the community and make a real difference to a young leader then this page is for you!
We can provide you with opportunities in: -
|
1. Educational Support
There are few things more rewarding than helping a young person learn. If you have a couple of hours a week to spare, you could work with primary or secondary school children in need of support and encouragement. You don’t need any formal qualifications but you must be committed to the relationship as the placement will last an academic year.
2. Community Champions
Do you enjoy organising and managing or would you like to develop such skills? If so we have opportunities supervising 11 to 14 year olds on community service projects. This project requires:
- 3 ½ hours on a Saturday or 4 hours per day (mon-fri) during holidays
- Supervising young people whilst they volunteer

3. Aiming High
If you enjoy networking and would like to gain some more experience then this opportunity might be right up your street.
We need young people to organise and escort children to businesses, places of interest, sporting activities and other community events.
To participate in this project you will need to make a commitment of 6 hours per month over a 12 month period. Specific duties will include: -
- Building relationships with new and existing contacts
- Sourcing new opportunities
- Organising outings and visits
- Escorting children on outings
