Cambridge University June 2017

In 2015 less than 1% of students admitted to Cambridge University were black. 15 of the same tweeted a photo of themselves in May this year. In 2017 double that number attended a taster day at St John's College.

The day was organised by Megan Goldman Roberts, Access Officer, especially for EYLA students all of whom aspire to attend Oxbridge or a Russel Group university.

Cambridge is barely an hour's drive from East London and yet to many of our cohort it seemed a world away. 6 hours later plus an hour back, the ambition and academic route map has put it in touching distance.

Our Young Leaders enjoyed a tour of the college, fascinating lectures on skin and bones and a fabulous lunch! We are grateful to the two Michaels, Megan and the rest of the team for their hospitality and inspiration.
