Eastside is a registered charity and a limited company. Eastside's affairs are overseen by the Board of Trustees, who also serve as Directors of the company.
The Board is chaired by Matthew Hagopian, a partner in the London office of international law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. The other members of the Board are:
Ric Lewis - Chief Executive, Tristan Capital Partners
Ed Schneider - Development Director, Wellington College
Dawn Ferdinand - Headteacher, The Willow Community School, Tottenham
Tom Tharakan - Associate, Linklaters LLP
In September 2015 we welcomed Susan Shakespeare as a volunteer adviser to the Board, pending Trustee status. Susan works for the Department for Education and is responsible for overseeing the delivery of special and boarding academies.
Eastside's Patrons maintain a long-term association with us, and serve as senior ambassadors in the wider community. Our patrons are the Most Reverend and Rt Hon Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York; and playwright and distinguished actor Rudolph Walker.
Founder and Chief Executive Ray Lewis leads the staff team. Ray also serves as a Senior Advisor to the Mayor of London.
Eastside's Chaplain is Reverend Bruce Stokes, Minister of Woodgrange Baptist Church in Forest Gate. He maintains an important pastoral role, supporting the boys with a range of matters ranging from character references through to counselling in relation to key life events. Given Eastside's multi-ethnic client group, the chaplaincy adopts an interfaith orientation, with additional advice and counsel taken on as required
